Lipitor.
Lipitor (atorvastatin) is a prescription medicine intended for the treatment of high blood cholesterol levels. You may need to take this drug if high levels of cholesterols increase your risk of developing heart problems. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of an allergic reaction to come drugs or substances. Those factors may affect your treatment and an alternative may need to be found. Please tell your health care provider if you have thyroid disease, diabetes, kidney disease, muscle weakness, or muscle aches, or if you are using such drugs as efavirenz, cimetidine, diltiazem, drugs suppressing the immune system, erythromycin, oral contraceptives, clarithromycin, antifungal medications, other cholesterol-lowering medications, or rifampin. While mild side effects are common and can include headache, joint pain, constipation, diarrhea, or gas, side effects that are more serious will need to be reported to your health care provider as soon as possible, especially unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, hives, muscle pain, itching, loss of appetite, nausea, flu-like symptoms, jaundice, difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest pain, rash, or extreme tiredness.
